ICYMI: Mayor Bill de Blasio spoke at the funeral of #NYPD Officer Rafael Ramos, one of the officers that was tragically killed earlier this month in Brooklyn. As Mayor de Blasio spoke, hundreds of NYPD officers turned their backs en masse in an act of defiance that quickly went viral. Police Commissioner Bratton told Face The Nation, the action of the officers was very inappropriate. Earlier this month in the wake of a Staten Island Grand Jurys refusal to indict Eric Garners killer the Mayor attempted to offer healing words by upholding the right to peaceful protest and affirming that #BlackLivesMatter. These remarks prompted the head of the New York Police union to say the mayor, threw cops under the bus.
