ICYMI (in case you missed it) I caught the thieves (who robbed my scrapyard on December 12th) yesterday coming back to my scrapyard in Nimmitabel. I restrained one of them, called 000 and told the police to come urgently as I feared I would be ambushed as I did not know how many criminals there were, and that another one of them was sneaking into my scrapyard and heading in the direction of where my wife Alisa and the 3 kids were in the middle of the scrapyard picking fruit plums and blackberries to make jam. The police took at least 45 minutes to arrive and admitted to me that they were not hurrying to my call. After a chase around town and me organising the locals to set up a perimeter-trap mechanism to catch the 2 crims who ran off into the paddocks and bush, 3 crims came and handed themselves into us (me and the coppers). I found out today that they were armed with a gun and to quote the police man who rang me Andrew, you were very lucky I will be taking this further as I think the police deciding to take their time responding to my call is disgusting. But for my luck this situation could have turned out a LOT more tragic… I now want to know why the Police decided to not respond with urgency to my call. AND I also want to know why 2 of the crims were bailed onto the streets of Cooma today ?? Surely, armed robbery does not get treated so lightly as to allow the shitheads back onto the streets the next day. Another sleepless night for me tonight… #:(
