ID Theft for Dummies As The Patriot noted months ago, one of the liabilities that will plague Democrats who supported OCare is the fact that it will be an easy mark for ID theft. Computer security experts are coming forward to make that liability clear. David Kennedy notes the centralized data from Healthcare.gov is the largest collections of information in US history. ... It would be very simple for me to break into it and steal all your personal information. The disclaimer notes that all information collected can be shared with DHS, IRS, and the Social Security Administration. Kennedy notes, This validates that if the government has that information they are going to use it for other purposes. IRS Cant Collect! According to the Joint Tax Committee, the only way the penalty fine for Ocare non compliance can be collected by the IRS is if you are owed a tax refund -- and the penalty can be deducted from that refund. The penalty applies to any period the individual does not maintain minimum essential coverage and is determined monthly. The penalty is assessed through the Code, and accounted for as an additional amount of federal tax owed. However, it is not subject to the enforcement provisions of subtitle F of the Code. The use of liens and seizures otherwise authorized for collection of taxes does not apply to the collection of this penalty. Non-compliance with the personal responsibility requirement to have health coverage is not subject to criminal or civil penalties under the Code and interest does not accrue for failure to pay [the fine] in a timely manner. More Demos Angry at OCare The ObamaCare exchange rollout has been such an undeniable disaster that more Democrats are condemning it. Two more House Democrats -- Rick Nolan (MN) and Sean Maloney (NY) -- are joining Senate Demos Mark Pryor, Joe Manchin, Mary Landrieu, Sen. Jeanne Shaheen and Kay Hagan, calling for a revised mandate schedule. I think the president needs to man up ... You never get a second chance to make a good first impression and the rollout of Obamacare has done great damage and harm to the brand, Nolan said. Of course, Nolan doesnt want voters to fire him. Some Democrats are waking up to the reality that ObamaCare is an albatross and they will suffer the political consequences. Democrats Love ObamaCare Some Democrats are running scared of ObamaCare, but others are falling more deeply in love with the beleaguered law. Nancy Pelosi says that if the administration can just fix the website, ObamaCare is going to be a beautiful thing that helps Americans have a healthier life, liberty, [and] the freedom to pursue their happiness. And if it cant be fixed? Pelosi says, Lets not get too bogged down in what happens if theyre not able to fix it. With the Left, results never matter as much as intentions. Or as Pelosi put it, I have faith. WH Refuses Answers The number is in the thousands. So said White House Press Secretary Jay Carney when doing his best to dodge questions about ObamaCare enrollment at a press conference. Carney promised that the White House would report that information monthly, but there is little chance they will provide those numbers on November 1st. Then again, what difference does it make? DC: Unregistered Ammo Arrest Mark Witaschek, a successful financial adviser with no criminal record, is facing two years in prison for possession of unregistered ammunition after D.C. police raided his house looking for guns, reports The Washington Times.
