IDAHO - Monday morning With Nates map in hand, I took off for - TopicsExpress

IDAHO - Monday morning With Nates map in hand, I took off for Coeur DAlene. I knew it was going to be about a 6 hour drive, but I didnt feel phased. It was just more road for me to drive. More of Idaho to see, but what I wasnt expecting was to find the heat wave of the century and to drive through something called Hells Valley. After passing a really cute lake town called the McCall and having an organic lunch with an incredible view, I took off for Coeur DAlene again. I about that Idaho was all about either huge hills with green trees or beautiful flat farm lands. What I encountered was from one moment to the next comfortable temperature to about 105 to 10° weather. I had entered the arm pit-ish of Idaho (it couldnt all be so perfect right?!?). If anyones driven on the highway five in California its a little bit like that, but up the temp by about 15-20 degrees in the summer. Was so nervous to not drive the van into the ground, I pulled over and let her rest while also dunking my clothes in the river so that I could drive sopping wetsuit to stay cool. And again...up drove another soul Idd meet and learn from. Up drive a car down to the rivers edge and out from it got out a little dog with a sweet underbite and an older gentleman. We chatted for the next half an hour as he told me about the history of that area, the battle of whitefish between with the Indians and the settlers and when I could expect from the terrain for the next three hours. You know I really had to go, I again let myself just be and experience him and the sweet dog named Apollo. I know its bad, but those who know me will understand that I dont remember the guys name. Oops :) Off I drove through the rest of Hells Valley over terrain that was not so beautiful into northern Idaho. As I drove through I pulled into a gas station and an pulled into the shade to let the RV rest a moment again. And of the tree later hose that could fill up my water tank, I had been wanting to do this wince the shower but hadnt found a place. It was my first time with this project on the RV, so I went for it. The blood that may sound to a lot of people, every little task and every first is a great step for. Its me getting out of my comfort zone and trying something but its uncomfortable. Success!! And again I met 3 souls, on wvejng a big fat tabby cat at that gas station. He had parked their RV next to me and I was talking to the gentleman about filling up the water tank. again I chatted with them for the next 20 minutes about what where they were from and what they were doing up this way. We exchanged stories, conf mirto that I correctly filled my water tank, some smiles and laughter and then we went about way. Them home and me north. Robby threw out a little hi Im here message along the way.y first nickname for him was Biggie. On a long stretch of not much to see, there he was. Haha I have some awesome angels looking out for me, I can feel them. Finally a few hours later, after a later evening text to Lilas sister Katy that I was arriving (she didnt know until that moment since I didnt know until that moment where Id end up hat night really), I arrived in Coeur DAlene. She said me as I had not eaten for a while gave me a couch to sleep on with a comfy pillow a great blanket and a sweet dog named Ty. The whole family got up this morning and we started out our days with great conversation and her little girl running down the stairs, a look of surprises on her face that I was there in her living room, running towards me to hug me with open arms. (Note: we had just seen each other last week at Lilas wedding). It felt really good to be around familiar faces again, more amazing souls. I grabbed the dog this morning (my first furry companion on my journey) and we went and got my oil changed, went to Walmart where there were plentiful guns to be purchased for the hunting enthusiast (hence the dear carcus displayed above the guns) and are now off for an evening hike. Ill stay here for the night again and then head out tomorrow for Montana where I will be picking up a very sweet friend of mine for my first companion on my travels :) I will truly miss Idaho, I really love the state.
