IDAs Northwest Director Eric Phelps and Jen, a volunteer from Animal Rescue and Care Fund, trapped on Thursday, June 12 for a project in Oak Grove, Oregon. The mother cat and her lone surviving kitten were both trapped together. The kitten is healthy and will be tamed down and adopted to a forever home. Unfortunately, the mother cat, who was elderly and suffering from severe stomatitis, was humanely euthanized at the clinic. Its never easy losing a cat, but when theyre suffering with no medical alternative, euthanasia is the best option. There are still another 5-7 cats to trap and theyll be back out to try for the remaining cats in early July.
