IDENTITY OF ATWATER HIT-AND-RUN VICTIM RELEASED BY FAMILY TO MCN - PLEASE SHARE ATWATER, CA - The family of the 16-year-old who was hit and killed by a vehicle last night has identified him as Eric Ruiz of Atwater. The family needs your help in identifying the vehicle and the person driving as well as help in locating Erics missing skateboard. Below is a photo of the skateboard which also has some stickers on it. Also note that the photo shows just the board and not the trucks and wheels that would be bolted where you seen the four holes at the top and bottom of the skateboard. PLEASE SHARE Identifying Eric has been difficult because although the family has made a positive ID the Coroner is obligated to also make a positive ID using scientific methods such as dental records. If no records exist then the process of identification can take longer as DNA must be submitted and matched with families DNA if available.
