IDF agreed to a two-hour humanitarian ceasefire in Sajaiyya from 13:30 to 15:30 reddit/r/worldnews/comments/2b7anq/idf_agreed_to_a_twohour_humanitarian_ceasefire_in/ • 2:30 P.M. Fighting resumed in the Gaza neighborhood of Shujaiyya less than an hour after a humanitarian cease-fire was agreed to allow the evacuation of wounded from the area. The IDF said its forces were shot at shortly after the two-hour truce, facilitated by the Red Cross, had begun at 1:30 P.M., and that it had resumed combat operations. Hamas had no immediate comment on Israeli allegations it had breached the cease-fire. (Reuters and Gili Cohen) haaretz/news/diplomacy-defense/1.606129 • I know the cease-fire is limited to Sajaiyya, but the nerve of those people. Three upper messages is the rocket alerts in Eshkol and Ashkelon. Less then hour into cease-fire. • The most ridiculous part? Hamas requested that ceasefire. • and they broke it. • Hamas broke it by firing on troops. According to rumor, the violation might have killed troops. (again, rumor) • Reporters say the fighting in Sajaiyya is not close to over and will resume shortly after the ceasefire. It appears many tunnels are in the area. I hope that everyone gets out and wounded are taken to hospitals. This appears to be likely the bloodiest and saddest point of this conflict this far. • Yes. I saw the video with the bodies on the streets of the district after the artillery strike. Truly terrible. Also, apparently Hamas, the dominant armed group in the Gaza Strip, had urged people across the territory (Sajaiyya) not to heed the Israeli warnings and abandon their homes. IDF now urges remaining civilians to move out of district into Central Gaza during the cease-fire. • Once again proving Israel is doing their best, or at least a decent effort, into avoiding harming civilians and Hamas are actually the ones responsible by purposely putting Palestinians in the line of fire. • Well, no matter how you put it, being Palestinian in Gaza right now is really, really bad. Hamass fault or not. War aint pretty. I hope they try and stay out of harms way as much as possible. Id probably move as much closer to the Central Gaza as possible. Losing house is bad, sure. But losing life is irreversible. • These cease fires are getting shorter and shorter. They first tried a full cease fire, once that blew off a 10 hour one.. then a 6 hour one and now 2 hours.. Whats next? Hamas asking for bathroom breaks from the IDF? • I can finish one movie in 2hrs. Unless its the new transformer movie. • so humanitarian, 2 hours to refill the tanks and reload the guns • It was requested by Hamas through red cross not by Israel. It was to clear bodies and injured • Read the article. Israel didnt request it. Hamas did, through Red Cross.
