IDQ20035 Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology Queensland FIRE WEATHER WARNING for the Maranoa and Warrego, Central West, Channel Country, Central Highlands and Coalfields and Darling Downs and Granite Belt districts, and parts of the North West, Capricornia, Wide Bay and Burnett and Southeast Coast districts. Issued at 3:10pm EST on Thursday the 26th of September 2013 for today and Friday. A vigorous trough extends from Mount Isa to Warwick and is expected to move further east this evening. Very hot, dry and gusty west to northwesterly winds are expected ahead of the trough, with cooler, very gusty southwesterly winds following the trough. This is expected to cause the following conditions until late this evening: Extreme fire danger in the Darling Downs and Granite Belt district southwest of Chinchilla to Inglewood and the Maranoa and Warrego district east of Mitchell to Bollon. Temperatures to 40 degrees, relative humidity to less than 10% and winds up to 50 km/h are expected. Severe fire danger in the Central West, Channel Country and Central Highlands and Coalfields districts, southern parts of the North West district; the far west of the Capricornia, Wide Bay and Burnett and Southeast Coast districts; and the remainder of the Darling Downs and Granite Belt and Maranoa and Warrego districts. Temperatures ranging from 31 degrees behind the trough to 41 degrees ahead of the trough, relative humidity to 10% and winds up to 45 km/hr are expected. Warm to hot, dry and fresh west to southwesterly winds are expected to persist in the southwest of the state on Friday following the passage of the trough. This is expected to cause the following conditions on Friday: Severe fire danger in the Channel Country district south of about Windorah. Temperatures up to 37 degrees, relative humidity to less than 10% and winds up to 35 km/h are expected. The Queensland Fire and Rescue Service, Rural Fire Service Queensland advises that fires will be uncontrollable and fast-moving. The next warning will be issued by 11 pm EST Thursday.
