IELTS speaking part 3: Evaluating importance type! The question - TopicsExpress

IELTS speaking part 3: Evaluating importance type! The question is about: • Why is… important? • Do you think..is important? • Is… important? Some examples of evaluating importance type: • Do you think it’s important to learn to cook? It’s not necessarily important, in my opinion! I don’t think you have to learn to cook if you can afford to have a maid, or if it’s ok for you to eat out every day, or you know if you have a wife or husband or friend who’s really good at cooking. Not to mention, at supermarkets, frozen meals are quite cheap, though not exactly healthy. Anyway, I don’t think that learning to cook is that important. There are other things in life that are a lot more important! • Is it important to have a holiday? For sure! In my opinion it’s pretty essential to rest, to do the things you want, to give yourself a break you know. It’s also good to see other places, and meet new people, and try new food. I definitely believe that going on holiday is a good thing! • Is friendship important in your culture? Definitely! Friendship is extremely important! Everybody needs friends, without them, life would be so boring and lonely! Your best friend is like your family! But some people disagree with what I think, they believe friends are a waste of time and can have bad influence on you. Some commons questions of this type: • Is it important to look after the environment? • Is it important to learn to drive a car? • Is it important to relax? • Are family meals important in your country? • Are friends or family more important? • Is it important to do exercise? • Why are celebrations important? • Is there a flower in your country that has a significant importance? • Is it important to learn a foreign language? • Is it important for children to eat healthily? • Is it important for families to spend time together? ....................................................
