IF I COULD CATCH IT Rain wakes me up If I could catch The smell, - TopicsExpress

IF I COULD CATCH IT Rain wakes me up If I could catch The smell, the sight The touch of its down pour, Its breath taking pitter-patter Over the flower-laden trees. If I could catch it Entangling my feet Like a snake on the tip of grass Or in the words of a lover Holding conversation over telephone Of truth and lies, The perfect way to start a season When rain is verily a mighty flux The shelter is broken The birds in the green verdure Fling out for a gruesome death, The sparrows, the blue jay Reels around a sorrow . If I could catch it On path ways waking paupers Lazily sleeping on the floors. On the fleeting steps of a woman In her sparkling silvery eyes Holds me lashing and splashing in love Laughing in the thunder Brightening in the lightening Turning me gold.
