IF WATER BAPTISM IS NOT ESSENTIAL, EXPLAIN THIS... WHY DID GOD SEND JOHN TO BAPTIZE WITH WATER? He that sent me to BAPTIZE WITH WATER, the same said unto me..., John 1:33. WHY WAS WATER BAPTISM the trademark of JOHN THE BAPTISTS entire ministry? Then went out to him Jerusalem, and all Judaea, and all the region round about Jordan, And were [WATER] BAPTIZED of him in Jordan, confessing their sins, Matthew 3:5-6. And John also was BAPTIZING in Aenon near to Salim, because there was MUCH WATER THERE: and they came, and WERE BAPTIZED, John 3:23. WHY DID MULTITUDES come to JOHN specifically TO BE WATER BAPTIZED? Then said he to the multitude that came forth TO BE BAPTIZED of him... Luke 3:7. WHY DID TAX COLLECTORS come to JOHN specifically TO BE WATER BAPTIZED of him? Then came also publicans TO BE BAPTIZED, Luke 3:12. WHY DID JOHN associate WATER BAPTISM together with REPENTANCE? I indeed baptize you with WATER unto REPENTANCE, Matthew 3:11. WHY DID LUKE declare that the Pharisees and lawyers had REJECTED THE COUNSEL OF GOD because they had NOT BEEN WATER BAPTIZED by John? But the Pharisees and lawyers rejected the counsel of God against themselves, being NOT BAPTIZED of him [John], Luke 7:30. WHY DID JOHN say that HE NEEDED to be WATER BAPTIZED by Jesus? I have need to be [water] baptized of Thee, Matthew 3:14 WHY WAS WATER BAPTISM the first thing JESUS DID in His public life? Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be [water] baptized of him, Matthew 3:13. WHY DID THE HOLY GHOST bear witness to JESUS Sonship during His WATER BAPTISM ceremony? And Jesus, when he was [water] baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him, Matthew 3:16. WHY DID JESUS require HIS BAPTISM for His disciples? Are ye able to drink of the cup that I shall drink of, and to be BAPTIZED with the baptism that I am baptized with? They say unto him, We are able. And He saith unto them, Ye shall indeed... Matthew 20:22. WHY DID JESUS decree, He that believeth AND IS BAPTIZED shall be saved? Mark 16:16. WHY DID JESUS TEACH water baptism in HIS FIRST DOCTRINAL LESSON ON RECORD (to Nicodemus)? Except a man be born of WATER and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God, John 3:5. WHY DID JESUS TAKE OVER JOHNS ROLE IN WATER BAPTIZING PEOPLE? And they came unto John, and said unto him, Rabbi, he that was with thee beyond Jordan, to whom thou barest witness, behold, the same BAPTIZETH, and ALL MEN COME TO HIM, John 3:25-26 WHY DID JESUS BAPTIZE MORE THAN JOHN, and authorize His disciples to WATER BAPTIZE others? ...the Pharisees had heard that JESUS MADE AND BAPTIZED MORE DISCIPLES THAN JOHN, (Though Jesus himself baptized not, but his disciples,) John 4:1-2. WHY WAS WATER BAPTISM IN JESUS NAME the FIRST THING PETER commanded in his FIRST SERMON to sinners? Then Peter said unto them, REPENT, AND BE [WATER] BAPTIZED EVERY ONE OF YOU in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost, Acts 2:38. WHY DID 3,000 PEOPLE GET WATER BAPTIZED following Peters first sermon? Then they that gladly received his word WERE [WATER] BAPTIZED: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls, Acts 2:41. (NOTE: The Upper Room was near the Brook Kidron.) WHY DID PHILIP the Evangelist preach WATER BAPTISM in Samaria? When they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST, THEY WERE [WATER] BAPTIZED, both men and women, Acts 8:12. WHY DID SIMON THE SORCERER get WATER BAPTIZED immediately upon his conversion? Then Simon himself believed also: and when HE WAS [WATER] BAPTIZED, he continued with Philip, Acts 8:13. WHY WERE THE SAMARITANS BAPTIZED IN JESUS NAME before they received the Holy Ghost? (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only THEY WERE BAPTIZED IN THE NAME OF THE LORD JESUS.) Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost [speaking in tongues], Acts 8:16-17. WHY DID THE ETHIOPIAN EUNUCH demand that Philip WATER BAPTIZE him immediately? And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain WATER: and the eunuch said, See, HERE IS WATER; what doth hinder me to be BAPTIZED? ...and they went down both INTO THE WATER, both Philip and the eunuch; and HE BAPTIZED HIM, Acts 8:36-38. WHY DID ANANIAS COMMAND SAUL (Paul) to WASH AWAY his sins (be WATER BAPTIZED) IN THE NAME OF JESUS? And now why tarriest thou? arise, and BE [WATER] BAPTIZED, and WASH AWAY THY SINS, CALLING ON THE NAME OF THE LORD, Acts 22:16. And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been scales: and he received sight forthwith, and arose, and WAS [WATER] BAPTIZED, Acts 9:18. WHY DID PETER COMMAND the first Gentiles to be WATER BAPTIZED in Jesus name IN HIS FIRST SERMON TO GENTILES? While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word. And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost. For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter, CAN ANY MAN FORBID WATER, that these should not be [WATER] BAPTIZED, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we? And HE COMMANDED THEM TO BE [WATER] BAPTIZED IN THE NAME OF THE LORD, Acts 10:44-48. WHY DID LYDIA and HER HOUSEHOLD get WATER BAPTIZED immediately when she heard PAUL preach the Gospel BESIDE THE RIVER in Philippi? And a certain woman named Lydia, ...whose heart the Lord opened, that she attended unto the things which were spoken of Paul. And when SHE WAS [WATER} BAPTIZED, AND HER HOUSEHOLD ...she constrained us [to stay], Acts 16:14-15. WHY DID THE PHILIPPIAN JAILER and ALL HIS household get WATER BAPTIZED in the MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT when he first believed? And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes; and WAS [WATER] BAPTIZED, he and all his, straightway, Acts 16:33. WHY DID ALL THE BELIEVERS AT CORINTH get WATER BAPTIZED? And Crispus, the chief ruler of the synagogue, believed on the Lord with all his house; and many of the Corinthians hearing believed, AND WERE [WATER] BAPTIZED, Acts 18:8. WHY DID THE BELIEVERS AT EPHESUS (who had already been baptized by John the Baptist) get RE-BAPTIZED IN THE NAME OF JESUS? He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost. And he said unto them, Unto what then were YE [WATER] BAPTIZED? And they said, Unto JOHNS BAPTISM. Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, ON CHRIST JESUS. When they heard this, THEY WERE [RE-] BAPTIZED IN THE NAME OF THE LORD JESUS. And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied, Acts 19:2-6. WHY DID PAUL PREACH TO THE ROMANS THAT WATER BAPTISM MEANS DEATH TO SIN? Know ye not, that so many of us as were [WATER] BAPTIZED INTO JESUS CHRIST were [WATER} BAPTIZED INTO HIS DEATH? Therefore we are BURIED WITH HIM BY [WATER] BAPTISM into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life, Romans 6:3-4. Paul taught that WATER BAPTISM is the LIKENESS OF JESUS DEATH. Know ye not, that so many of us as were [WATER] BAPTIZED into Jesus Christ were [WATER] BAPTIZED into his death? Therefore we are BURIED WITH HIM BY [WATER] BAPTISM into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. ...if we have been PLANTED [by water baptism] together in the LIKENESS OF HIS DEATH, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection, Romans 6:3-5. For as many of you as have been BAPTIZED into Christ have put on Christ, Galatians 3:27. Paul compared the COMBINATION of SPIRIT BAPTISM and WATER BAPTISM to the Israelites crossing the RED SEA, OUT OF EGYPT. And were all BAPTIZED unto Moses in the cloud [the type of SPIRIT baptism] and in the sea [the type of WATER baptism], 1 Corinthians 10:2. WATER BAPTISM and SPIRIT BAPTISM are INEXTRICABLY LINKED in ONE TESTIMONY. WATER BAPTISM IN THE NAME OF JESUS is the BURIAL of a man who has DIED TO SIN by REPENTANCE. SPIRIT BAPTISM (receiving the Holy Ghost speaking in tongues) is the RESURRECTION of a man who has DIED TO SIN and been filled with the ETERNAL LIFE OF GOD. DEATH, BURIAL and RESURRECTION is the complete work of the NEW BIRTH. DEATH is accomplished by REPENTANCE. BURIAL is accomplished by WATER BAPTISM IN JESUS NAME. RESURRECTION is accomplished by receiving the Holy Ghost speaking in other tongues. WHY DID ALL THESE PEOPLE BAPTIZE IN WATER? Because WATER BAPTISM IS ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL TO SALVATION!! Water Baptism is the SECOND ELEMENT of the New Birth. Death, BURIAL, and Resurrection. If you have not yet been WATER BAPTIZED IN THE NAME OF JESUS FOR THE REMISSION OF YOUR SINS, you have NO REASON to believe you are saved. Your sins are not remitted, and you have not yet been BORN OF THE WATER. WATER BAPTISM in JESUS NAME is both NECESSARY and it is URGENT!! RIGHT NOW... Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost, Acts 2:38. Get on your phone and call a Oneness, Apostolic, Acts 2:38 Pentecostal preacher and ask him to baptize you in Jesus name TODAY!
