Were about to cross another milestone. I just returned from the USAFA where I booked Doolittle Hall for our 2nd Annual Partners Christmas Party. I say what I mean, mean what I say. Its something my father put into me from the time I was a boy. Last December we hosted a Christmas party at our home as a way of saying thank you to all who have shown confidence in this group & backed it up by writing checks -no matter how meager- to help us stay afloat. At that party I made the declaration, This party WILL become an annual event all our partners will be invited to. However. At that party we were bursting at the seems. Id anticipated 40 or 50 showing up, we packed in more like 70 or 80. It was a phenomenal night, but it was clear wed need a bigger venue. Well, venue secured! I just plunked down the deposit and signed the contract. December 13, 2014, 6:00pm. Done. Doolittle Hall is gorgeous. Below are a couple of stock pics + a few I snapped on my phone about 45 minutes ago. (we live just outside the AFA) We have a venue to again bring together like-minded patriots, show our appreciation, celebrate the birth of the Savior, and let iron sharpen iron. If you do not live in the area - begin making your plans now. Come a day or two early or stay a day or two late. Colorado Springs/ southern Colorado is a fantastic tourist destination and if youve never been to *your* Air Force Academy, you should. Its a sight to behold & our party will be on it! If youre thinking, Id love to but were on a budget, tell you what -- YOU JUST GET HERE. Start sticking fifty bucks a month away, (or whatever), to cover airfare or gas. If you can get here, well find you a place to lay your head. Weve got a great network of local conservatives. On the other hand, if you live in the neighborhood ...CO Springs, Woodland Park, Pueblo, Canyon City, Castle Rock, Denver metro... have a spare/guest room & wouldnt mind hosting some RMBC castaways, maybe providing airport shuttle service and/or playing tourist guide for a few days--let us know. Email info@acofc, state where you live & how many you can take in. Well make the connections. We did for some folks last year & it worked out great. Friends, this effort is like this group itself. Getting it done through relationships. Itd be nice if we were all millionaires, could fly in first class & stay at the Four Seasons. But we arent. However, weve got each other. Take a chance. Spend a couple of days with some patriots who are perfect strangers - you may be surprised how much fun you have. So this is official notice. The 2nd Annual RMBC Partners Christmas Party is official as of right now (btw, I host Christmas parties, not holiday parties) start making plans! -dw
