** IF YOU NEVER READ ALL MY POST READ ALL OF THIS ONE---- This past week, as summer ended and school started back for me. (Dont get me wrong Ive had football all summer and grass cutting and fixing the house and making things and and and......so my summer hasnt been free). I just thought one day when I was looking at our broken AC unit (thats been out for 4-5 weeks now) and our HUGE (sarcasm) bank account.Why didnt I finish football in college or go harder for baseball??? Why didnt I go be a doctor or lawyer like dad tried to talk me into?? Why did I become a teacher. Because of the pay right??? Then this morning I was reading my verse of the day on my bible app and was reaffirmed of why I am a teacher. Eph 2:8-10 I mean that you have been saved by grace through believing. You did not save yourselves; it was a gift from God. It was not the result of your own efforts, so you cannot brag about it. Now that was the first part of the verse but the ending slammed into me and let me know Im here for a purpose and Im glad for it so to finish up with verse 10 God made us to do good works, which GOD PLANNED IN ADVANCE FOR US TO LIVE OUR LIVES DOING... God knew I was going to teach, He knew I was going to be involved in youths lives and He had a plan for me to do it through teaching. Not playing football, not baseball, not as a doctor or lawyer or actor but as a teacher and coach and youth leader. And you know what..... Im just fine with that. You can say God is not in the schools anymore (I know he is in ours) but as long as Im in a classroom God will be in my class because He lives within me. Just the humble and blessed thoughts of a man raised in red mud,white clay and deep brown dirt.
