IF you lucky enough to be a citizen of the United States of America, then you are truly blessed. The Declaration of Independence changed my life -- literally --- When a freshman at North Georgia College -- a declared biology major -- I decided to take a class simply because it interested me -- The History of the American Revolution -- (much to the dismay of my major professor) -- I fell in love (again) with the history of this great country. I toiled and labored over my paper -- the writing of the Declaration of Independence -- Adams -- who was humble enough to acknowledge that he was not the right choice to pen the document, Jefferson who doubted his own ability, Franklin who proofed and presented --when one considers the thought, the wisdom -- the conditions -- heat (no air condition) - the smells (bathing was neither as easy or as frequent as it is now) -- the effort (no spell check, printers or electric key boards, no electric lights) -- devotion to an idea -- a goal -- an ideal ! How blessed are we? How thankful I am.
