“IGBO ENWE EZE” That’s a popular saying that simply means “Igbos don’t recognize their king”. From an entirely different dimension, it could be interpreted as, “The igbos never unite or agree in one heart or on one agenda”. Whichever way you look at it, the truth of that jargon is so glaring we as Igbos can’t deny it. Like the biblical Essau, Igbos never value their birthright until things start going amiss so they start crying foul. Let’s take what is happening now in the Nigeria polity in general and the upcoming Anambra state guber-election in particular as a case study. For so many years since the return of democracy in Nigeria, Anambra has particularly suffered a severe setback compared to other eastern states in terms of human and infrastructural development., no thanks to PDP and God fatherism. Our dear great hero and lover of the Igbos Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu (Blessed be his soul) decided to do something about it by founding the APGA party - the only party that can claim to be of Igbo origin, by the Igbo and for the common Igbo man. Just like Christ anointed St Peter as the rock on which the church was established, so did Dim Ojukwu anointed Peter Obi as the rock on which APGA first governmental experience took off. The man Peter Obi has ever since been doing a lot of good works in Anambra state which I can beat my chest and say “No governor has equaled his mammoth achievement s not just in one but several spheres of development”. It was a big disgrace that after all these , APGA still lost the past governorship election in Nnewi town, the hometown of Ojukwu himself, the APGA founder . We all cry for a Biafran sovereign state but fails to honour the man who gave us the Biafran vision in the first place. We invited all kinds of alien political parties that have no room for the Igbo agenda to come and govern us. Imagine APC, an all Islamic political party making waves in our dear Anambra and all we do is sheepishly chant Onwaa Onwaa. This is so disgusting it makes me want to throw up. Are we blind or foolish or both? Can you ever imagine APGA flag flying in the north? That is all but impossible, so why would APC flag fly here? We even compound the problem by giving the party all the recognition- so sorry. Is APC not a product of AC and CPC the same bughari party? PDP on it’s own side is not an option because we’ ve just been freed from their grip and still recuperating after testing their wicked koboko for years on end. Labour party (LP) may be said to be neutral from the spectator’s point of view but for those of us who know about the Andy Ubah and Anambra state LP connection, we can’t take that gamble for it’s not worth the risk. I can’t help but foresee a group of hoodlums gathering for a Bazaar feast on Anambra resources if Labour party unfortunately wins. APGA is ours and the only party that can fight the igbo cause upto whatever level. The only party that can boldly speak up against any injustice against the Igbo man without fear of party interest. You hate Peter Obi?.. I know and I will tell you why. This upward and progressive man prevented all the cankerworms that had feasted on our dear Anambra resources for years from having their field day on our economy, and you know what they did? No you don’t. Those bad guys swore to spend multiple millions of naira to sponsor nasty publicity against the governor just to rubbish his government. Most of our dear good Anambrarians were brainwashed by these Unfounded rumours from those illegal publicity. As a social creature, you are also caught in the bug. If you doubt me , then do these steps and see how right I am. 1.take your pen and write 10 different reason why you hate Peter Obi 2.Crosscheck your list and see those with merit and evidence 3.Take your final list and see if no good governor in Nigeria has ever erred in that area 4.Compare and contrast to see if those errors really outweighed the good works the man has been doing. Nobody is a saint and nobody is perfect, our dear governor inclusive. Do you know that it is on record that Anambra state is the only debt free state in the whole of Nigeria? Do you know that inspite of party differences Gov Peter Obi still became the chairman of eastern states governors forum and president Godluck Jonathans most loved governor?
