IGO, California - UPDATED: 7:37 p.m.: The fire is now 1,200 acres and 10 percent contained. Its heading north, driving by winds and dry fuel. Residents living in the areas from Bland to Platina roads, and Bland to Roaring Creek and Blaze are under mandatory evacuations. So far, there are no structures damaged or people injured. Regarding detours, people on the east side of the Platina-Bland road closure are being diverted to Interstate 5 and then Highway 36. For people on the west side, theyre being detoured to Red Bluff and I-5. Original story: The Shasta County Sheriffs Office is conducting mandatory evacuations this evening in the area of a fire thats burning in the Igo-Ono area. An evacuation center has been established at Grant School. The evacuations are for homes along Platina Road. Fire crews are asking the California Highway Patrol for road closures at Platina Road and Bland Road at Roaring Creek Road. The most recent closure is at Platina at Rainbow Lake Road in Ono now that the fire has spread on the west side of Platina Road. Motorists can use a detour on Highway 36 and McAuliffe Road to get to Gas Point Road. The fast-moving Bully Fire is reported on the south side of Platina Road near Old Bully Choop Road. Air tankers and ground units are battling the flames. Resources sent so far to the fire also include 16 engines, four bulldozers and four water tenders.
