IGP IMPLORES COMMANDERS TO BE STEADFAST… Following His Excellency the President Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma’s statement on the Ebola Health Emergency, a host of regional and Local Unit Commanders on 18 December 2014 converged at the conference room of Police Headquarters to receive detailed briefings from the IGP and a cross-section of members of the Executive Management Board on the dos and don’ts covering the pronouncement. In his statement, the Inspector General thanked the commanders for remarkably demonstrating robustness in stabilizing security despite the evils of the Ebola outbreak in the country. He expressed condolence to the families of victims that have so far succumbed to the outbreak. ‘’We cannot enjoy the coming holidays in our country; given that we are presently gripped by one of the world’s most deadly disease’’ he stated. He cautioned commanders to be steadfast, fair, and friendly but very firm in the translation of His Excellency’s statement and implore them to uphold the principles and instructions of the declared “Western Area Surge” operation which is expected to last for two weeks. He urged commanders to cascade the message to their subordinates for effective service delivery. ~SLP~
