IH-35W Construction Update: August 18- August 23 From: Crawford, Jason Good Afternoon, Here are the anticipated traffic impacts for the coming week (day closures are from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; night closures are from 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. unless otherwise noted): • Northbound IH-35W o Overnight, August 19, 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., all lanes will be forced to exit Basswood Blvd and re-enter north of Basswood Blvd as crews place bridge beams for the new Basswood Blvd U-turn lanes. The inside left lane will be closed from IH-820 starting at 7:00 p.m. Local access will be maintained on Basswood Blvd during this time. EXPECT DELAYS. SEEK ALTERNATE ROUTES. (Media advisory attached) • Southbound IH-35W o Overnight, August 20, 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., all lanes will be forced to exit Basswood Blvd and re-enter south of Basswood Blvd as crews place bridge beams for the new Basswood Blvd U-turn lanes. The inside left lane will be closed from North Tarrant Parkway starting at 7:00 p.m. Local access will be maintained on Basswood Blvd during this time. EXPECT DELAYS. SEEK ALTERNATE ROUTES. (Media advisory attached) • IH-35W Frontage Road o Overnight, August 19, 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., the northbound frontage road immediately north of Western Center Blvd will be reduced to one lane in coordination with the IH-35W main lane closure. • US 287 Frontage Road o Overnight, August 20, 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., the southbound frontage road south of Harmon Rd will closed to Basswood Blvd in coordination with the IH-35W main lane closure. All southbound frontage road traffic from Harmon Rd will be forced into the US 287 southbound main lanes. • IH-35W Northbound Entrance Ramp from Western Center Blvd o Overnight, August 19, 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., the northbound entrance ramp from Western Center Blvd will be closed in coordination with the IH-35W main lane closure. Traffic may enter northbound IH-35W from Basswood Blvd. • Western Center Blvd o Daily, August 19 through August 24, the north-to-south turnaround will be closed as crews construct bridge columns. The August 24 closure will be from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. o The single lane closure in each direction along Western Center Blvd at IH-35W will continue through mid-August for the City of Fort Worth water line work that is nearing completion for this phase.
