IIM Bangalore releases interview list for PGP Management admissions, based on CAT 2013 scores-: Indian Institute of Management Bangalore has announced the first list of candidates short listed for the Personal Interview (PI) for admissions to their two-year full time Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGPM). Short listing is done on the basis of CAT 2013 scores and previous academic merit. Although work experience is not necessary, 2-3 years of work experience is an added benefit. Considered equivalent to MBA, the PGP Management is IIM Bangalores flagship course with a total of 400 seats available. Short listed candidates will be required to complete a written test and a personal interview. In addition prospective candidates are required to provide 3 letters of reference from persons who have known them (the candidate) and interacted with them in an academic/professional capacity. For the written test, aspirants will be a given a topic by IIM Bangalore based on which the aspirant will need to write a short note of around one page in a duration of 30 minutes. The topic will generally be related to current political, economic and business affairs though topics such as sports may also be given. The personal interview will focus on judging the candidates suitability for Management and other personal traits of the candidate. The final selection for admission will be based on performance in CAT 2013, academic merits, work experience (if any), performance in written test, performance in interview and the letters of reference. While the first year of the PGPM course consists of compulsory subjects, for the second year students can choose their desired electives from the wide variety of subjects; Economics and Social Sciences, Finance and Control Area, Marketing, Production and Operations Management, Quantitative Methods and Information Systems, Corporate Strategy and Policy, Organization Behavior and Human Resources Management.
