IISD Developing financeable NAMAs webinar series Nationally appropriate mitigation actions (NAMAs) are fast becoming the climate finance vehicle of choice to support developing countries in the transition to low-carbon, climate-resilient futures. To help operationalize NAMAs, the International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD) has produced an online learning program to guide practitioners and policy-makers in successfully identifying and prioritizing financeable NAMAs. In the month of July, IISD will host three webinars in the series “Developing Financeable NAMAs.” These webinars will present IISD’s on-the-ground experience with NAMAs and provide an overview of its new online learning programme. • In the first webinar, on July 4 at 9:00 am EDT, IISD experts will introduce the course “Developing a NAMA Quick Screen” and discuss lessons learned conducting NAMA screening exercises in Bangladesh, Kenya, Trinidad and Tobago, and Congo Basin countries. • The second webinar will be hosted on July 9 at 9:00 am EDT. Speakers from IISD and ÉcoRessources will provide an overview of the course, “Developing a NAMA Deep Screen,” and will discuss on-the-ground NAMA experience in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Kenya and Rwanda. • The third webinar will be hosted on July 16 at 9:00 am EDT. IISD mitigation expert Seton Stiebert will guide participants through the online course “Preparing a GHG emissions baseline projection,” drawing upon his experience of more than a decade in the field.
