IKO-IKO IS GOING TO THE MEMPHIS IBC! IKO-IKO will be representing the South Florida Blues Association in the 2015 International Blues Challenge this coming January in Memphis, Tennessee . Past South Florida winners have included Joey Gilmore, Albert Castiglia Band, J.P. Soars and the Red Hots, and Joel DaSilva and the Midnight Howl. IKO-IKO is honored to have been added to this list of outstanding artists. We want to thank the SFBA for choosing us as their champions. We will do our very best to make South Florida proud. The 2015 International Blues Challenge will be the 31st year of Blues musicians from around the world competing for cash, prizes, and industry recognition. The Blues Foundation will present the 31st International Blues Challenge January 20- January 24, 2015 in Memphis, TN. The world’s largest gathering of Blues acts represents an international search by The Blues Foundation and its Affiliated Organizations for the Blues Band and Solo/Duo Blues Act ready to take their act to the international stage. In 2014, 255 acts entered, filling the clubs up and down Beale Street for the quarter-finals on Wednesday and Thursday, the semi-finals on Friday and the finals at the Orpheum Theater on Saturday. We will have at least that many in 2015. And remember that on October 12th at 6 PM Iko Iko wants to invite you to The Barnacle in Coconut Grove for 3 hours of peace, love and music (cuz we could handle 3 days).
