IM SO PISSED that Lorde covered Bright Eyes/Conor Obersts deep cut Ladder Song for the new Hunger Games track, and FURIOUS that she DIDNT GIVE HIM ANY CREDIT for the original song by noting her track as a cover. For everyones edification, Ladder Song was written by Conor Oberst after a close friends suicide for the friend and her family. Its exceptionally personal and a profoundly heartfelt recording, neither of which Lorde manages to communicate in her voice or production, and she sure as hell didnt write lyrics like that.
