IMO State Has Been Run Bankrupt...a financial expert’s opinion. IMO State Must Get on the Sail Immediately, No need for Mismatches Again. The indicators of decline and bankruptcy are too obvious, from lack of commercial productivity, sale of most viable government assets, massive misappropriation, insider dealings and corruption, over reliance on federal allocations, low internally generated revenues, no investment and no value for all monies spent. A Strategic Agenda is the solution from a renowned technocrat, to re-engineer the machinery of governance, different from legislation and management. IMO State presently, is highly geared and indebted, therefore, need a real technocrat to bring us out of the woods and avoid going into outright liquidation. An un-industrialized State indebted to well over N200 b, handed over to those who have not managed a simple sole traders shop or successful commercial concerns before, will be a hell of an economy, if not given to technocrats to reduce the impact of hardship envisaged on the people. You must be a money manager through productive efforts and not “creative” kleptomaniacs, of non-existent or “virtual” products of 419. It is never too late because, it can never be over, until it is over. The problem is in getting it right, that is why the word examination became an intellectual excise, only meant for the willing horses. We dont need an entirely new person on our leadership seat for now, until it becomes smooth sailing, buoyant and solvent. Presently, we can see the catastrophic mess in legislative, management and leadership of Imo State by the Executive Arm, where catalogues of impeachable offences are traded for cash, ranging from impunity, due process, transparency, accountability, misappropriation, all-inclusiveness etc are all absent causing epidemic demise of several indigenes and debasing of humanity and institutions. When will this State to get off the ground, and out of the hands of sycophants and crooks? We are committing mass suicide by continuing in ignorance and led by mediocrity. Can a blind man steer the ship of a State? The choice is ours to make now or we are all recolonized by unknown forces of undertakers. Jude Akagbusum
