IMPEACHMENT CARNIVAL IN NIGERIA The impeachment of Adamawa state - TopicsExpress

IMPEACHMENT CARNIVAL IN NIGERIA The impeachment of Adamawa state Governor, M. Nyako do not surprise me when it happened because I saw it coming, if you are familiar with the shenanigans of power, the power play by the gangs and cliques that rule over Nigeria you would understand my line of thoughts. PDP led administration since 1999 till now has a trade mark of intimidation, harassment, abuses of different kind and usage of state resources and machineries to fight their perceived enemies and opponents, what trigger this write up is the hypocrisy that surrounded the allegations that led to Nyako’s impeachment, I read and I was told the guy was impeachment based on corruption, misconduct, financial recklessness and all sorts of allegations. Fine and okay by me, as an anti-corruption, social and human right crusader, it gladdens my heart when I see corruption fought to a standstill and brought to its kneel but in this case if Nyako is impeached base on all the allegations, I want to tell you virtually all the public office holders with the exception of very few from Goodluck Jonathan to the least Local Government Councilor need to be impeached by now because none of them has commit less offense than M. Nyako. There is nothing M. Nyako did today that they can be exempted from. This is not to support Nyako because if you ask me to write about him I have nothing good to write but Nigeria must come to a cognizant that if Impeachment now become a fighting tools in the hands of politicians, if it became a tool to silence opposition and to harass them, then this country has signed up for anarchy and dragging itself toward precipice. If this saga continues has we saw it, that leave me with this conclusion that the presidency is truly afraid of the opposition. A government that has nothing to show as an achievement, that has no serious business at hand will descend so low to this bunkum that has become a characteristic of the government in Nigeria.
