IMPENDING UNIVERSITY OF MALAWI STUDENTS VIGILS AT THE PARLIMENT We are dismayed that despite a series of meetings and negotiations between the disputing parties for more than a month now, they have yielded NO tangible favourable results. As students of UNIMA we are tired of being kept at home without any direction of hope. You may recall that most of the calendars in the constituent colleges are already lagging behind, for example Chancellor College and Polytechnic. It is therefore disturbing that as a country we are slowly drifting to a repeat of the previous impasse. This therefore serves as notice (To all students of UNIMA, Parents, guardians, Civil society organisations and well wishers) that there shall be peaceful demonstrations in Lilongwe on 23rd October 2013 (after expiry of 48hrs notice) probably from Kamuzu College of Nursing to the New Parliament building (details to follow later) and vigils at the same venue until our concerns are addressed (that the immediate opening of the colleges) As UMSU we will strongly foster sustainable Peaceful solutions to matters that concerns us in search of sustainable results. we remain deeply concerned and look forward to the opening of all the colleges.
