IMPERFECT: By Amy E. Lauer 24/07/2014 I am ethereal, with the heart of a child, I can be demanding, I have run wild. I know when to start and when I’ve had enough. I’ll always run away, when life gets too tough. I am delicate, my own sense of style, I am stronger, than I do believe, As I live today, hard to conceive. My dreams, have turned into nightmares, My silent screams are silenced no more. No saint, a sinner, am I, Tears, all a waste of time, As were the days spent with you, Men with cold hearts and lies as their truth, Sadly innocence, is lost with our youth. People come in, they rarely stay, Look at your life, Where are you today? Blame your mother, your religion, the place you were born, Then look within yourself, the answer dwells within, Walk in the light, you always will win. I do not need a crowd to fawn over me, Yet I will be remembered for just being myself, Who wrote from her heart, Though she gave much away, I believe my purpose here, I bow and pray. I know greater things are on the otherside, I am ready now, I finally found me, I accept myself and the responsibility. I am not afraid to say how I feel, Do not ask, if you want me to lie, Liars win, temporarily, The truth my dear, forever I’m free. I am imperfect, That’s perfectly fine, Aging gracefully, I have learnt well, Life is but a lesson, A story to tell. You do not need to be rescued, you must save yourself, As sadly fairy tales, Are books on a shelf. Love with all your heart, Keep an ever open mind, Find your purpose, Live in your truth, Remember the lessons, instilled in your youth. We all stand together, but we are worlds apart, Each of us searching, with all of our heart. Happiness cannot be bought for any price, True peace and serenity, Are created within, remember this and your bound to win. Judge no other, Do not stab me in the back, As if that’s who you choose to be, It’s integrity you lack. No I am perfectly imperfect, in this sad place we call our world, I have seen and I have certainly done, Just when you think it’s finished, You’ve only begun. Live your life, as if tomorrow may never be, Give with all your heart, Set your spirit free. Karma comes in and karma rushes out, Stop questioning, what life’s all about. A struggle, A sea ever smooth, Betwixt and in between, You’ve nothing to prove, Perhaps to yourself, That you lived every dream, You dreamt for yourself. As the unique soul, that wanted it all, Soon you found out, the higher the climb, The harder the fall. Have you created a life of your own imagery, Or are you living, as your supposed to be? Conformity, may be the norm, This is not my purpose, or I’d never been born. Some accept the answers, Others question the story, You will find me, living with HOPE and GLORY. A story never ends, until the last word is written, Make a life for yourself, follow your vision, Do what feels right, never give in, but do not put up a fight. Things happen, in their perfect time, Rushing perfection, is committing a crime. Sands through the ages, Tell us it’s time, Have faith, believe in yourself, others will too, Soon, you’ll be respected, for just being YOU. Forever and day, to thy own self be true.
