IMPORTANCE OF GOOD UPBRINGING FOR KIDS One of the most compliments that people generally bestow upon youngsters is – “What a well-brought up child!” We also hear praises heaped upon a kid in the name of good family culture. On the other hand, when a child misbehaves, the first people to get blamed are the parents. After all, parents are responsible for the behavior of a child until he/she is old enough to assume individual responsibility. Even after growing up, parents are too blamed for the odd behavior and wrong deeds of their children. This is justified, because parents are the strong and deep foundation and the children are the huge buildings, which are built on it. Hence, being a parent is one of the most challenging jobs anyone could ever adopt. It is the longest task and responsibility that an individual ever performs. The parenting process includes protecting, nourishing, and guiding the child. It involves a series of interaction between the parent and the child through out the life span. Good upbringing, thus, is most-essential. Just as children go through the stages of development, parents also go through the stages of parenthood that require appropriate parenting stage responsibilities. These stages involve changing task and roles of both parents and children. What is good upbringing? Good upbringing is all about training a child to be a good and ideal citizen and making him/her an asset to society, as well as to the nation. It includes the guiding forces of life- discipline, right conduct, honesty, righteousness, patience, benevolence that you have to teach your children. We all expect other people in society to be honest, forthright, incorruptible, hard working, socially conscious, environ- mentally sensitive, generous, polite, broad-minded, non-violent and tolerant. The only way this is possible if our own children are brought up to be all these noble things. And the only way our children will submit to this sort of upbringing is when we also aspire to be the ideal, because children imitate parents. It is not fair to expect a governess, a maid, a teacher or even guardians to convert your child into a magically perfect creature. When you bring a child into the world and give him or her, your name, you are forever linked to his/her fate and responsible for his/her deeds. Hence, your upbringing has vital role to play in your kid’s life.
