IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: I know youre all busy with exams, so Ill try to keep this brief, but given the amount of information I aim to address, it may be a little long, so bare with me. A VERY honorable filmmaker of the professional industry, Claudia Myers, is coming to present as a guest speaker at our next meeting, and theres a couple things Id like to say: Here is the trailer to Myerss film Fort Bliss: https://youtube/watch?v=eTkvs34-esQ#t=13 Like what you see? Want to see it in theaters!? Well you cant, but you can view it on Netflix via. stream! Heres the link to that: netflix/WiMovie/80014856?sod=search-autocomplete This is BIG for us. Its not everyday we have the opportunity to talk one-on-one with a feature length filmmaker, let alone have her present FREE of charge. Also, I STRONGLY suggest that EVERYONE watches this film BEFORE the meeting to better prepare questions well be able to ask her. Also, its a REALLY good movie! Worth the watch! Think Im kidding? Watch the 1st 10 minutes and tell me you dont want to watch the rest. Go ahead. Prove me wrong (P.S. ~ Youll be lying if you try). So when I say you should DEFINITELY come to this meeting and come ON TIME, I mean it. David has raised a concern to me in regard to our members new trend of arriving 30 minutes late to every meeting. Granted, not everyone comes late, some come early (Claps for you!), but being late by half an hour delays our start time and keeps us guessing as to when we should begin. Its disruptive & therefor disrespectful to have someone shuffle through the chairs to find a seat while someone is trying to present, and the rest of us (who showed up on time) are trying to focus on the presentation whether it be a script reading from one of our peers or a guest speaker such as Claudia Myers. Davids right to find concern in this issue, and now that its been brought to my attention, I am issuing a CLOSED DOOR POLICY on anyone who comes late to the next meeting, and those of the future. This means that yes, if you arrive late, as some of us have been doing, you will be LOCKED OUT. Missing the guest speakers presentation & losing the opportunity to participate in any other events we have planned for that meet. From now on, the doors shut when the scheduled meet time begins. Simply put: Ya snooze, ya lose & Early bird gets the worm. Anyone who knows theyre going to be late a few days in advance prior to the meeting, inbox me letting me know. I promise Im not as edgy 1 on 1 as I come off in these lengthy community posts, so if youve got an issue and would like an excused tardy like we have in school, let me know & Ill happily hook you up! Hell, Ill personally open the door for you when you arrive and shine your shoes after you sit. Tryka meeting #4, January 24th, 5:00pm. Dont be late. Sincerely your Tryka President, ~Sam Dodd.
