IMPORTANT BUT DELICATE. M.V:- "Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond or free: but Christ is all, and in all" (Colossians 3:11). Text:- Prov. 19:4&6. It is not à sin to be wealthy but we should note dat wealth could lead its owner into self-delusion bikos relying on wealth could bring its owner to d virtual neglect of God. Wealth in d hand of child of God is an advantage to d community, club or d church of who owns it, if such fellow could exercise self-restraint & live by d scripture wt his/her wealth (I Tim. 6:18). More often dan not, wealth automatically confers power, be it economical or political on its owner & dat power could lead to pride, arrogance etc. which Almighty God detest (Prov. 8:13). Wealth becomes evil wen d pursuit of it takes precedence over ur fellowship wt others in d church; it becomes evil wen u no longer av time 2 commune wt God. Dia are quite à no of xtians who found solace in d pressure of official duties or social/humanitarian commitments as sufficient grounds to keep dem away 4rm dia church. Ppu of affluence are sought after social & political, u just ask any wealthy person who are his/her genuine frnds. He really does not know if he/she is sincere (Prov. 19:4), u could den imagine d pains of wealthy person. In course of time, he is surrounded by sycophants who encouraged him/her to acquire power on dia behalf & for dia benefits (Prov. 19:6). Any person in wealth & power is indeed in gr8 dangers bikos dia is no milk of kindness wt many of dem wiaby dey could not giv free lunch to d needy & God does not delight in tight-fingeredness, wen u are feted dia is à catch somwia (Prov. 23:7-8).
