IMPORTANT CHUCKANUT MOUNTAIN UPDATES Race day is quickly approaching and I have a few updates. Please read carefully! 1. We have bib/packet pickup at the Lakeway Inn on Saturday, July 26 from 3pm to 5pm. You can get your pint glass, t-shirt, and bib number there or you can pick it up race morning. The Lakeway Inn is located at: Best Western Lakeway Inn 714 Lakeway Dr, Bellingham, WA 98229 2. A CALL FOR DONATIONS/HELP! In conjunction with 4th Dimension Racing (Roger Michel & Jerry Gamez) in Seattle, the Bellingham Trail Running Club is going to be holding a food, clothing, and monetary donation drive for the people who are affected and who have lost their homes due to the Carlton Complex Fires in Eastern Washington. These fires are the largest and most destructive in WA state history. HOW DO YOU DONATE? Bring your donations of clothing, food, or money to this Sundays Chuckanut Mountain Marathon at Larrabee State Park. We will drive our trailer and truck over on Monday and deliver the stuff. Series Award Ceremony: We will have awards for the BTRS series at 1:30 pm on Sunday. Time could vary depending on who has finished the race. We may need to move the awards to 2pm. 4. Race Start and Finish Location: Race actually begins at Lost Lake parking, but parking is at Larrabee at the Band Shell (South Day Use Area) in Larrabee State Park. The finish and post race party is also at the band shell. (NOTE: in the map, the Lost Lake Parking area is labelled “Clayton Beach Parking.” It was recently changed to be called “Lost Lake”) Address of the park is: Larrabee State Park 245 Chuckanut Drive Bellingham, WA 98229 5. We will have day of race registration! We also have a fun kids race at 9:30. All kids get medals! Kids race begins at Lost Lake Day Use Area as well. 6. Race benefits Girls on the Run. We are excited to be able to give back to the community by making Girls on the Run the beneficiary for ALL BTRS races this year! 7. Pre Race FUN!!! Come see the Blackberry Bushes Stringband the night before the race (Saturday, July 26th) at The Green Frog from 7-9pm. the Green Frog has delicious food and a ton of amazing beer on tap! 8. Dont forget that we will have a live band, BBQ, and more post race! Weather looks amazing for race day. High of 78F and 0% chance of rain!
