IMPORTANT IMFORMATION!!!! To all dog owners we need your help,, the dog laws are changing again!!! We have limited time to get our views on this out there!!!! I wanted to make you aware, that the Council have at the last minute changed the goal posts and have put forward that the ‘Dogs on Leads’ order now be altered. They have now amended the item to include Dogs on Leads - ‘all sports grounds, fields, parks and pitches, which are maintained by the local authority and are not already subject to ‘Dog Exclusion’, Please see Page 2, Schedule B (5) of the document, I think you would agree that this will have a massive impact to dog owners and dog walkers alike. This goes against the responses by the majority of respondents to the public consultation and also to meetings I have attended with council officials to discuss the matter. This was approved at the meeting and is being sent for final approval to the Cabinet meeting on 6th January 2015. I did raise my concerns that this action would result in there being no where in the War Memorial Park and indeed throughout the City where dogs could be exercised off the lead, the Chair did acknowledged this but I got the impression that he was only paying me ‘lip service’.
