IMPORTANT MESSAGE FOR ALL! All rowers are to note that the river is now exceptionally high and loading in and out can be quite challenging. The oars are also in the boats to prevent water damage when under proudfoots. Loading in and out : Please ensure you are still loading in and out from the ramp area using the rubber matting to help prevent slipping. Rowers getting in and out, and also those holding the boat, need to be very careful here to prevent slipping. Please take loading and unloading very slowly. Oars now in boats : Please note that due to the high river this week the oars are now locked in the boats. You will see from the photos below how Jeff (Flagstaff Hill Boat Builder) has them in there and he would like them put back the same way each time. He has asked for three things to be done : Please be sure to put the blades to the stern (sweep end), Put the locking device around position 1 and 3. When locking please ensure the rubber section is against the oar and not the chain to prevent fibre glass damage. The key to the oars is the same that you have for the cupboard and the boats. Setting up /packing down will obviously be a bit different and please keep in mind they are very valuable oars and just take your time with them to prevent damage.
