IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM RABBI ROB: So......it begins yet again. Jews in Ukraine are being ordered to register. Thats how it always begins; identify, isolate, subjugate, then exterminate. I address this question to the world at large: Why do you hate us? Our numbers are insignificant. We want no more than do our neighbors, to live our lives in peace. We wish to raise our children just like other people do, to be good citizens and to be a part of the larger world. We wish to worship God as we see fit, peacefully and in dignity. But there appears to be no place on earth where we are wanted, no place where we can live our lives in peace. In 1948 we were given our own homeland (which was ours by right to begin with), yet we have had to fight to keep it for seven decades. It appears that the world has changed its mind. Why? WHY? I am a Jew, born of a Jewish mother from a Jewish family that reaches back centuries. I intend to remain a Jew. Further, I will never register just because I am a Jew. I wish to live my life peacefully, in harmony with my neighbors. I am a rabbi and I will worship God the way Jewish people have for thousands of years. I say this to the world.....do not think I will go quietly, for if you do you will be surprised. We are not the same Jews that marched in orderly lines to their slaughter during the holocaust. We remember. Leave us in peace.
