IMPORTANT MESSAGE Working with cats is a very specialised skill. The girls who groom cats at Nose 2 Tail are specially trained to groom cats. We are not just dog groomers doing cats. We have focused in depth training on how to groom cats safely, as calmly as possible with correct handling techniques to avoid harming any cats in our care. We are always looking for new ways to create a more stress free experience for the cats in our care. We have recently had cats return to us to be groomed. After we groomed them the first couple of times they have been somewhere else (usually somewhere closer to their home) where they have had an unpleasant experience. They have either been sedated or not handled very nicely / appropriately. Unfortunately this can cause issues when the cats return to us. One cat that we have successfully given a lion clip to multiple times, had a groom at a facility closer to her owner and they sedated her. She came back for a lion clip 12 months after the last one we did and we were unable to finish the groom as she became unusually (for her) and extremely aggressive. Another cat was brought to us a few years ago after a bad experience being groomed in a vet clinic. The person doing the groom couldnt finish the groom and told her owner she was highly aggressive and made her owner feel terrible about her cat. She has now been seeing us every 6 weeks since. She can still get aggressive at times, especially near the end of her groom but because we know her, and the signs she gives us, we know how to handle her to finish the groom. And sometimes if she is not handling it well we will only do what she can handle.
