IMPORTANT NEWS COMING OUT OF CHINA! igg.me/at/WarWithChina The far-western Xinjiang region of China is in an uproar over protests, violence and police oppression of the mostly Muslim Uyghur people who are native to the region. A knife-wielding Uyghur gang has attacked a police station and government offices and now dozens of Uyghurs have been killed or wounded by the police. At least 13 Han Chinese have been killed by the mobs who are enraged by the Chinese governments restrictions on the practice of Islamic religious rituals. Uyghurs rose up to resist Chinas extreme ruling policy, reported one Uyghur spokesman who put the number of dead so far at 100. Tensions have existed for years, indeed around 200 Han Chinese were murdered in 2009 due to Uyghur anger at the governments policy of moving non-Muslim Han Chinese into the region. Incidents like this highlight the need for a rational and consistent approach by the US regarding Chinese human rights abuses. What if violence spills over into neighboring Tajikistan or the Kashmir region which remains a source of conflict between Pakistan and India?
