IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING PIKE COUNTY!! PLEASE SHARE!! I just want to clarify and give the actual facts regarding the kennel rebuild at Pike County. At NO time was it ever stated that healthy, adoptable dogs would be killed during the rebuild project. If you hear this rumor, it is a lie and it is an attempt at nothing more than drama of which RMO does not participate. Why....because this type of drama can actually help kill dogs in a pound. Hearing misinformation, or in this case out and out lies, will cause people to flood the pound with unnecessary phone calls and emails that will prevent the wardens and staff from actually helping get their dogs out of the pound. It is totally irresponsible on the part of anyone who would do such a thing! FACTS: We work extremely closely with this pound....the warden, staff and volunteers. They are extremely dedicated to the hundreds of dogs that past through that pound each year. They work tirelessly with rescues, other pounds and shelters and rescue advocates to ensure their dogs do not get euthanized. Their euthanasia rate is very low there because of their hard work and despite the present condition of that pound. Please do not be deceived by inaccuracies and lies that circulate online. Some people live for drama and take every opportunity to attack others. Rescue Me Ohio just chooses to take the high road and do our best to help, not to needlessly damage the reputation of one of our good pounds.
