IMPORTANT! On Tuesday, July 1st beginning at 5 pm, the Alachua County Commission is having a special meeting to hear a request from one or more neighbors to close a portion of the Levy Loop Trail. The 6 mile trail along a dike, encircling a marsh, is popular with birders and botanists, and hiking and bicycling only are allowed on the dike that surrounds the marsh. The Preserve was purchased with federal, state, county, and private funds, and is considered to be the gem of the Alachua County Forever program.
