IMPORTANT PUBLIC NOTICE RE: PROPOSED TOM MBOYA ESTATE GATED COMMUNITY: PUBLIC CONCERNS & COMMENTS The Kisumu Central Business District Association (KCBDA) is a registered society in accordance to Societies Cap. 108 of the Laws of the Republic of Kenya as a non-religious, non-political and a not-for-profit making organization whose main objective is to promote City of Kisumu as the most beautiful, safest, secure, environmental friendly (Millennium) City and the best commercial hub in Western Kenya and gateway to East and Central Africa. THE SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES OF KCBDA include among others; 1. Provide its members and other stakeholders of City of Kisumu with a common voice and an effective means of communicating with government officials and other instrumental groups 2. Facilitate achieving common goals in the City of Kisumu, its CBD and its neighborhoods 3. Organize and help members work for preservation and improvements in their neighborhoods, Workplace and the City of Kisumu 4. Organize and implement, singularly or jointly, neighborhood improvement projects within the City of Kisumu Some stakeholders at Tom Mboya Estate, City of Kisumu have petitioned KCBDA for the establishment of a gated community to generally improve the estate in terms of welfare; Access to services; Improved Security; Better environmental conservation and preservation; Disease control etc etc. KCBDA has therefore been tasked to consult and negotiate with the City Council of Kisumu and various other stakeholders to enable this idea to be fully conceptualized.
