IMPORTANT UPDATE The rally at TCF Tribal Plaza is being sponsored by the Shakopee Mdewankanton Sioux Community. Shakopee’s involvement is instrumental – they paid for the Tribal Plaza, as well as providing funding to build TCF Bank Stadium. Shakopee has invited a number of groups and individuals to participate and speak at the Nov. 2 rally. Groups include grassroots organizations under the #NotYourMascot banner, and the National Coalition Against Racism in Sports and Media. As noted on the #NotYourMascot Event page, this is a global convergence that will take place at TCF stadium. Shakopee has scheduled the rally to begin at 10 a.m. Because of the scheduling, #NotYourMascot has changed the march time to 9 a.m. With our revised schedule, we will gather at American Indian OIC at 8:30 a.m. At 9 a.m., we will begin the march and converge at TCF stadium at 10 a.m. It’s important to remember that this is about our identities, about our community, about our families, about our children, and about the Seventh Generation.
