IMSH 2015 Attendees: Come on by and check out one of the many TATRC Funded Projects on display at the IMSH R & D “Corral!” TITLE: SIMCOACH STANDARD PATIENT STUDIO Presented by the University of Southern California Institute for Creative Technologies Description: The SimCoach Standard Patient Studio (SSPS) technology provides an authoring capability for medical educators to author virtual standard patients. While human standardized patients (HSPs) have been considered to be the gold standard medical education experience for both learning and evaluation purposes, it is impossible to control and replicate the training environment. Employing virtual standard patients (VSPs) allows complete control of the practice environment as well as the ability to track student performance and provide feedback on several aspects of the doctor and patient interaction. Through the SSPS web portal, medical educators will use authoring tools to create VSPs that provide consistent, highly controlled training experiences.
