IMWA election deferred, Star Party protests ITANAGAR, OCT 16 The tight runoff campaigning process of the much hauled and awaited election of the Itanagar Market Welfare Association (IMWA) today saw a callous side when only a single contesting party among the trio rival parties, the Star Party came up at the IMWA Election Commission’s office at D sector here, for the programmed scrutiny processes. Star party, the lone party led by its leader Dado Tajuk that attended the event has revealed their anguish over the election commissioner of the event and the capital Deputy Commissioner for not pursuing with the rules and regulations as per the preset IMWA election rules. As per Dado, the DC had summoned all the contesting candidates on the scrutiny day regarding the ensuing IMWA election on 19, October; in which it was decided that 19 October was fixed as the day for the election. But to the utter dismay of the Star party, a notice from the DC’s office on the very evening had deferred the election to October, 26 next on the ground of Deepavali festival, without any concrete reason. Thus, breaching the decisions of the last convention again. As per the source October 15, last was the date for the nomination processes of the candidates, in which only the star party attended the process and the rest duo, the Parrot Party and the Sunflower Party didn’t attend the same, owing to which the Star Party demanded for the election results to be in their favour.
