IN CASE WE HAVE FORGOTTEN... We are being told Buhari will fix - TopicsExpress

IN CASE WE HAVE FORGOTTEN... We are being told Buhari will fix the problems of insecurity in the North and that he will deliver the nation from the clutches of corruption . Of course as a peace loving Nigerian who also decried corruption in high and low places, I am eager to see a secured and peaceful nation where corruption will be a thing of the past. But before we take our tall hopes too far, Perhaps I need to call our attention to a recurring issue in the polity viz this short analogy as follows: 1. When Abacha was the Head of State the insecurity in the nation was attributed to NADECO mainly populated by Yoruba leaders. Bombs were exploding and people also lost their lives. Abacha was a Northerner, NADECO was southwest. 2. When Obasanjo was President the wave of insecurity came from the North over Sharia issue. MEND and other Ethnic militias came up in defence of their regions . Obasanjo is a Southwesterner while the insurgency was coming from the North. 3. When Yaradua was the President, the insecurity was domiciled in the Niger Delta area, it was era of kidnapping of oil workers and blowing of oil installations. Im sure we also know that Yaradua was a Northerner while the insurgents were South South people. 4. Today, President Jonathan is in charge while the Boko Haram are creating the Security challenge for his government. Jonathan is from South south while the boko hara mists are northerners . Of course, we can be sure of what will happen if Buhari also become the President. It is unfortunate that we all know the solution to our problem but we keep on pretending that the Nation is one and indissoluble. On the issue of corruption, I have said it before, I will be waiting to see a Buhari revisiting the Halliburtons scam, the stealing in PTDF , the privatisation deals, the rots in the oil sectors . Im waiting to see him treating the cancer ailments without spilling blood..
