IN MEMORY OF : Hon . J. Barthes Wilson M.P. for freetown west 1 for many many years, under the A.P. C. Banner, in that constituency there were a lot of Liberians , who gave him the nick name tarpeh which means fiery in their language, a lot of people therefore thought it was his real name, and as it was Liberian had the misconception that he hailed from there. My father was originally from the village of Bathurst where his father was the local rev.and the founder of a school called the Mohammedian school in those days, where he taught the likes of gambias president jawara etc English. He came to u.k. Joined the R.A.F. And later qualified as an accountant, went back to Sierra Leone after studies and was founder member of A.P.C. And was minister of Education, health, and lastly 1st tourism minister and died in office as minister of tourism in 1974.he was given a worthy state funeral. I am very proud of my late fathers role in politics and today can hold my head up high in our society.
