IN MEMORY OF RENEA LAU In 2012 I was overwhelmed with sadness by the brutal rape and murder of a beautiful girl who lost her innocence, her life, and her future by a Criminal thug who decided HE had the right to end her life in the most harrowing and frightful way. Two years ago 30,000 people marched along Sydney Road with their hearts breaking for Jills husband, her family, and her devoted friends. , We will never forget the gorgeous and vivacious Jill Meagher with her beautiful haunting face and her inconsolable husband with the sadness of a thousand years etched into his face. I wanted to take this moment (without sounding cliche and clumsy) to please remember another beautiful innocent soul who lost her life as she walked to work as a pastry chef on June 28th. A crazed brute of a man terrorised and chased Renea Lau before raping her twice, murdering her and then throwing her away like she never mattered to anyone. Her death was brutal. Vicious. Terrifying and degrading. Renea Lau was a devout Christian, a proud Chinese woman who was loved and adored by her family in Hong Kong. Her friends will miss her forevermore and NONE of this is fair and none of it makes any sense. It is unbearably sad to say the least. We owe it to Renea Lau to remember her face. We owe it to her to remember her name. We owe it to all of the innocent girl souls who barely had a chance to live their remarkable lives. Goodbye Renea Lau. We will never forget you. Love Alannah
