IN PHOTOS: 10 Amazing Things We’ve Learnt From The Guinness Big Eruption Concert #1 70% Of The Crowd Came Because Of Shatta Wale: No doubt it’s Shatta Wale’s moment and he’s the man of the year, even before he performed people were holding these photos praising him and chanting his name. His performances was highly and critically acclaimed. The stadium was filled with numerous fans of Shatta Wale. #2 Sarkodie is not the only artist in Ghana: Many people will brand me a hater for saying this but Sarkodie was originally billed to perform on the show, he pulled out because the organizers refused his demands. The show went on successfully even without him. Shatta Wale and Samini alone saved the day and pulled up a massive show which has been branded the number one show of the year. #3 Foreign Artists Put In Lot More Than Performing: Before the show many artists were angry that organizers are bringing in foreign artists to perform. The truth is, they are worth every penny. The photo you see above is Akon rolling in a balloon on the crowd. Has any Ghanaian artist pulled this stunt before? he also jumped into the crowd. All Ghanaian artists do, is walk back on forth on stage singing the song on CD. No effort are put in their performances other than shouting on top of their voices on the pre-recorded songs. #4 Big Sean wasn’t needed after all: Everybody is talking on Social Media and nobody has mentioned Big Sean’s name. His performance was alright, he didn’t make too much effort. I guess it’s only because Ghanaians probably know only 2 of his songs. You can’t blame him. #5 Wizkid Snubbed Samini: Well It’s obvious Wizkid don’t want to have anything to do with Samini, they have both performed on countless shows but they have failed to perform together which has made their hit song ‘Time Bomb’ drowned. Sorry Samini. But he performed with Akon, their unreleased ‘Don’t Dull’ Remix #6 EL and Lil’ Shaker Were Surprise Artists: It’s always good to have surprises. EL and Lil’ Shaker out of nowhere came through to perform. I guess without pay but it was well worth it to show their talents and creativity to the 25,000+ Ghanaian crowd. I guess organizers eyed them for their next show. #7 Samini Still Got It: Samini has been praised for pulling a spectacular performance at the show. Many fans say he was the best performer than his colleague Shatta Wale. His performance was matured with Live Band even though there was nothing special about his entry nor visual effects. #8 Shatta Wale was Over-Hyped but didn’t deliver: Except for his beautiful entry, his performance wasn’t the best. He brought many artists like D-Black and Pope Skinny on stage but still failed to turn heads other than the hype he’s already got. His songs were full of profane words. His fans were so expecting him that he gave them what they wanted. That is what you get for being the artist of the moment. But in all, Samini murdered him in terms of performance. #9 The Show Had Over 25,000 People: Of course it takes a free show and US-based artists to pull such crowd. You can’t blame Ghanaians. Everybody loves freebies #10 Security Was Worst: Of course with that much people some sort of control was needed but it was taken to the extreme as people were abused by the police. People were treated like animals and delayed for no apparent reason, that is what Ghanaian police knows best anyway. Hence the reason why most people don’t want to attend these kind of shows.
