IN RELATED NEWS At yesterday’s Colorado Springs Utilities Board meeting, two representatives from the newly formed group “Colorado Springs Forward” spoke. One of the individuals is an employee of Norwood Development, which is owned by C4C cheerleader Chris Jenkins—not surprisingly, Colorado Springs Forward has also decided to back C4C. The two spokespeople appeared miffed that a confidential Colorado Springs Forward document was leaked to the press. The document recommended that the Colorado Springs Utilities Board, instead of being elected by the citizens of our city, should be appointed by the mayor. You may remember that the Jenkins family spent almost a million dollars on the campaign for strong mayor a few years ago. In addition, Colorado Springs Forward sounds like they want the Board to consider giving “free water” to metro districts—that’s water currently paid for by developers. Since there’s no such thing as free water, we’re assuming the cost would be passed on to us, the citizen ratepayers.
