IN REVOLT Have you ever wondered why God didnt destroy Lucifer at the beginning of his rebellion in Heaven? Ellen G. White writes the following: It was necessary for God to allow Lucifer to develop his plans fully, so that anyone could see their true nature. Gods government included the inhabitants not only of heaven, but of all the worlds He had created. Satan had been so highly honored, and he had cloaked all his actions with so much mystery, that it was difficult to show the angels the true nature of his work. So it was necessary that he demonstrate how his proposed changes in Gods law would work out. Satans own acts must condemn him. The whole universe must see the deceiver unmasked. If God had blotted Satan out of existence immediately, we would have served God from fear rather than from love. God would not have fully destroyed the deceivers influence nor wiped out the spirit of rebellion. For the good of the universe through eternal ages, Satan must develop his way more fully. Then all created beings would be able to see his charges against the divine government in their true light. Satans rebellion was to be a testimony to the universe about the terrible results of sin. ----end of quote . And so Satan was cast out of heaven. Then there was war in heaven; Michael and the angels under His command fought the Dragon and his hosts of fallen angels. And the Dragon lost the battle and was forced from heaven. This great Dragon---the ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, the one deceiving the whole world--was thrown down onto the earth with all his army. (fallen angels)--Revelation 12:7-9 Since the fall of Adam and Eve, there has been a great battle going on for the minds and hearts of mankind. There is only one way out; They defeated him by the BLOOD of the LAMB!...Revelation 12:11. One day soon this terrible war will be over, until then let us believe and accept the beautiful promise of John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. Amen, and Amen. Beverley Carter
