IN THE NEWS: It’s the people and not President Aquino’s political foes who are demanding the scrapping of the Disbursement Acceleration Program (DAP) and other discretionary funds, a militant lawmaker said yesterday even as the Chief Executive continued to draw brickbats for his televised defense of the controversial scheme. “President Aquino was misleading the people when he said that only his political opponents are calling for at the abolition of pork,” Bayan Muna party list Rep. Neri Colmenares said.
