INCREASE IN MEGA-PHILANTHROPY DONATIONS Beth Breeze, from the centre of philanthropy at the University of Kent, said, “Philanthropy is a very lumpy activity, and tracking year-on-year trends tend to cloud that. But hopefully we can still celebrate the fact that 25 donations worth £1 million or more were made to arts, culture and the humanities in 2013, and hope that those donors will feel satisfied with the impact they achieved and nurtured by the recipient organisations, so they decide to give again, and perhaps even more next time.”
