INDEPENDENT STUDY links glyphosate to epidemic of fatal chronic kidney disease in Sri Lanka farm workers and other poor farming regions such as El Salvador. Glyphosate was found to be extremely toxic to the kidney when it mixes with ‘hard’ water or heavy metals like arsenic and cadmium, either naturally present in the soil or added externally through fertilizer inputs. Hard water contains ‘metals,’ such as calcium, magnesium, strontium and iron, along with carbonate, bicarbonate, sulphate and chlorides. This leads us to ask: Has anyone studied the potential impact of glyphosate in areas with hard water in the US and Canada?
